Be Awaken!

Dumaguete City, Philippines - Ablazer International had their annual summer camp last May 23-25, 2014 held at Huiz Resort, Balugo, Dumaguete City. It was a three-days and two nights camp participated with almost sixty campers from high schools  and college campuses in the city. With its year’s theme “Awaken”, the main purpose of the camp is to awaken the passion and every aspect of the life of the campers to serve God and love Him more than ever before.

The camp has started with a registration and grouping of the campers on day one. The purpose of grouping is for them (campers) to be acquainted with one another and be accountable to each other. There were also energizers led by the camp staff and facilitators. On the evening was the praise and worship followed by the preaching of the word by Ptr. Konrad Villaluz in which he talks about that salvation is essential in pursuing God and what can “sin” do if we don’t let God to take care of it.

The second day was a pact of learning as the campers had another session with Kristine V. Jarnskor together with her husband, Bent Leo Jarnskor as they

shared about their testimony as a married couple and how important it is to be set free from the past and have breakthrough from the things that entangles us. They also ministered to the campers, prayed for them and blessed them.

On the third day, another ministering of the word happened led by Imelda Serohijos as the campers freely  worshipped God and soaked in His presence. God is really moving and the campers experienced breakthrough in worshipping the one and only true God, Jesus Christ.

Ptr. Kenneth Villaluz, head pastor of Cornerstone Assembly of God had a free interactive discussion with the campers. The campers started the discussion by asking questions and with wisdom from God, Ptr. Kenneth tried his best to explain and to impart knowledge to the campers.

God has been so faithful before, during and  even after the camp. During preparation, He meets all the needs and provided everything. He uses people as an instrument to make the camp a successful one. It was a blast for all of us(Leaders) and personally for us to be awaken also and reach out more to the next generation.

I believe that the campers were also blessed and awakened on what they have experienced during the camp, but it doesn’t stop there. It’s just the beginning of a transformation for them and believing God for more things to happen in their lives.

Awaken AI Summer Camp 2014 was a successful one and campers, let’s look forward for the next AI Camp 2015!

Water baptism is one of the activity during the camp. Romans 6:1-5, gives a very clear context on what baptism is. By God’s grace, 18 campers have decided to be baptize and willing to follow Jesus for the rest of their lives.

Indeed, there’s no turning back. There might be challenges along the way but rest assured that once we focus our eyes on Jesus, nothing is impossible.
